Hello, my name is Bernie Newton, welcome to the Hardshell Baptists website. I consider my faith to be an Old Hardshell Primitive Baptist. I just love the Primitive Baptist people and all of God's children in other denominations as well. I enjoy working on this website to help bring a blessing to those who don't understand the faith of the Primitive Baptists or who are interested in our old paths that we uphold to be the Truth of the Word of God. We the Old School Primitive Baptists have been given the examples of worship set forth by Jesus Christ, the Son of God and who is the chief cornerstone and the author of His church.
If you get any comfort or blessings from this website, please give God all the Praise, Honor, and the Glory! He's worthy to be Praised from the rising of the sun til going down of the same. There is no other name whereby we must be saved then the name of Jesus Christ. For Jesus Christ is the Lord of Lords and King of Kings. If we boast let us boast in the Lord Jesus Christ and what He did for His children.
Article 1
I believe in a one true living God, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, and these three are one and the same; He's eternal, perfect, righteous, and creator of all things; He is true, omnipotent, omnipresent, self-existent, independent, and all wise.
Article 2
I believe that the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspirational and the True Word of God, and the only rule of faith and examples given unto men by the Holy Spirit; and I believe the scriptures of the 1611 King James Translation to be the infallible, preservable, and incorruptible Word and Truth of God. I do not recognize any other so-called versions.
Article 3
I believe that God loved, predetermined, and chose His people to be conformed to the image of His beloved Son Jesus Christ before the foundation of the world; These chosen elect of God were called with a Holy calling, justified, redeemed, reconciled back to the Father by the precious blood of His only begotten son, Jesus Christ.
Article 4
I believe that I am in my original flesh or earthly body of sin which I have inherited from my natural father Adam and his original disobedience with God and I am in a fallen state of condemnation and death; I am conceived in sin and brought forth in iniquity; I am unable to recover myself from my sins and my fallen state of condemnation; My righteousness is as filthy rags. My body of flesh must die and return to the dust in which it came.
Article 5
I believe that the only way back to the Father and to escape this body of flesh and death is to have been saved by the precious blood of Jesus Christ. The justification and good works of Jesus Christ which was done at Calvary for the elect of God; The only good works that the Father accepted to be a perfect sacrificial lamb for the justification of God's elect and all of the works of Christ were finished at Calvary.
Article 6
I believe that God's elect shall be effectually called, regenerated and sanctified by the Holy Spirit and they shall be preserved blameless in grace; Furthermore, none of the elect of God shall perish or lose their eternal salvation, because nothing is able to separate them from the love of God.
Article 7
I believe that the assembly, baptism, the Lord's Supper, and foot washing are ordinances of Jesus Christ, and true believers are the only subjects of these ordinances. The true acceptance of baptism is immersion; The baptism which represents the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ; That the baptism doesn't wash away our sins, but the answer of a good conscience toward God. The sacred Lord's supper using only unleavened bread representing the Lord's sinless and holy body and unleavened wine representing the Lord's sinless and holy blood and they are necessary for the Lord's supper and representing His pure righteousness and holiness; To often do this in remembrance of Him.
Article 8
I believe in the resurrection of the just and the unjust; That the just will inherit everlasting life and the punishment of the unjust will be eternal.
Article 9
I believe that God used a metaphor for His sheep that He saved these sheep for Himself from generation to generation and He used a metaphor for the goats that He left in their condemnation and sin; The sheep and the goats are used just as the elect or wheat representing His elect children and the tares which represents the children of the devil.
Article 10
I believe that good works without faith are dead, but with faith we should do good works that were preordained of God; No flesh can do good works without faith; I should do good works and walk therein, because of my faith that God has already given me eternal life. Not so that I can work out my eternal life by my good works; No good thing dwelleth in me, but only that Christ dwelleth in me, that is why I should do good works with faith and they were preordained of God.
Article 11
I believe for us to love God whom we haven't seen, we must love the brethren and sisters whom we have seen; To love the elect of God, we must forgive all trespasses and sins of our brothers and sisters; Overlooking the brethren for good and not evil; To obtain mercy, we must be merciful; To be called a friend, we must be friendly. To judge righteously, let us judge the outer man which is the earthly man we see in the mirror. Let us only judge ourselves and strive to be in peace with all men.
Article 12
I believe that God has given His elect precepts and answers to live a way of life, everyday. Christ's kingdom is within His elect. We should strive to dress and keep ourselves unspotted from the world. God gave us two greatest of all commandments to live by. Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind; This is the first and great commandment and the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
